UFC Fight Night 219 video: Mayra Bueno Silva torques Lina Lansberg into kneebar submission

MMA news

Mayra Bueno Silva added a slick leg submission to her highlight reel Saturday in Las Vegas.

As the clock wound down in Round 2 of her bantamweight bout at UFC Fight Night 219, Silva (10-2-1 MMA, 5-2-1 UFC) grabbed hold of a leg and submitted Lina Lansberg (10-8 MMA, 4-7 UFC) with a kneebar at 4:46 of Round 2.

The submission was the first of its kind in UFC women’s bantamweight history.

After the victory, Silva called for a fight against former UFC title challenger Raquel Pennington, who does not currently have a publicly known fight on the books after a rumored March 25 matchup with Irene Aldana fizzled out.

Silva, 31, extended her winning streak to three, which also includes victories over Stephanie Egger and Yanan Wu.

Lansberg, 40, fell into a four-fight skid, which also includes defeats to Karol Rosa, Pannie Kianzad and Sara McMann.
